In the 2 year retrospective we recently published, we referenced some big, exciting changes ahead. As we have continued to grow, and prepare our exhaustive update to Israel Keyes: Life in Detail, we have been having discussions about rebranding. We have decided to adopt the name Crime Culture Media.
Our new URL will be www.CrimeCult.com; the process of migrating from one to the other may take a few days, during which time, neither url will work. After the change is complete, both urls should work, as MurderPM has been redirected to CrimeCult; if the site is down, it’s because the new url is currently being verified.
Nothing is required from our subscribers during this change except to remember that we are now Crime Cult Media at www.CrimeCult.com. Your subscriptions will remain the same, whether free or paid. The process of migrating may take a few days; if the site is down, it’s because the new url is currently being verified.
To celebrate, paid annual subscriptions to Crime Culture Media will be 50% off while we migrate to the new CrimeCult.com url. Your paid subscription includes both Viktoria Evans’ Bound to Kill ebook and our upcoming Israel Keyes documentary at no additional cost.
There are several reasons we have decided to make this disruptive change to our name and web address. Primarily, the name Murder Pop was adapted from our record label. It was never intended to be the name of a magazine that discussed actual murder, and we feel it doesn’t reflect the gravity of what we discuss here.
Also, Murder Pop Records is very clear in the intent of its branding; Murder Pop (true crime) magazine is much less clear. Speaking of branding for Crime Culture Media, you might have noticed our new logo, which we created with Kate Lozovska.
Based on Murder Pop’s “Dancing Man” logo in a nod to our history, this more abstract design in Kate’s singular style will serve Crime Culture Media well as we move forward at www.CrimeCult.com.
You may remember Kate as the artist who created the amazing cover art for Bound to Kill.
I think the name is very cool, and looking forward to seeing the change over!
